- Design and Development - Perform and coordinate complex application programming activities. Design the application's technical infrastructure using specific databases, programming languages, utilities, and testing approaches. Lead the design and development of cost-effective and innovative solutions.
- Strategic Planning - Develop multi-year technology roadmaps that align with the bank’s vision, strategy, and business objectives. Lead multiple complex projects involving backend systems, new technology, and the enhancement of existing applications. Working with Project Managers, Business, BA, and other stakeholders to contribute to detailed project plans based on agreed upon project priorities.
- Accountability – Accountable for tracking individual change request life cycle from scope through deployment. (Participate in all SDLC phases)
- Leadership Skills - Act as development team lead and run code-review sessions with the wider team to ensure the project is on track to meet objectives. Support and mentor intermediate and senior developers by sharing knowledge, collaborating and problem solving.
- You can demonstrate experience with: 5+ years in C/C++, GoLang, Swagger and payment systems with a deep knowledge on financial protocols (e.g. ISO8583, VISA Net, MasterCard, CUP) and experience of designing system to system integrations. It is an asset if your have good knowledge on development design patterns and best practices. Prior experience in cloud technologies (like docker, Kubernetes, AWS, and Azure). Designing and building scalable production quality REST APIs. Excellent knowledge of version control (e.g. github) and build tools (e.g. Jenkins). Operating with minimal supervision and performing moderate to difficult technical tasks independently Knowledge of Dynatrace is a plus.

What You'll Be Doing
You’ll be joining CIBC’s Alternate Solutions Group. You’ll be at the heart of CIBC’s digital transformation, successfully delivering complex, enterprise-scale mobile projects involving multiple back-end systems. As an Application Consultant, you will build, implement and maintain easy, flexible, and personalized solutions that enhance the client experience across multiple CIBC platforms and applications.
